I had a lunch meeting in Portland. It was about developing a program in Salem based on a successful model in Portland. Basically it is me figuring out how to make it work, which will allow for trying to do hinges different. But it would also mean finding the money to pay for things including my time.

It was a good meeting and I had to run home to get things set for an easy transition from school to dance for my daughter. It all went smooth and my wife got the girl to dance on time.

My son was flustered I hadn’t build the other half of his desk, which gave us the opportunity to do it together. It was a slower process as he didn’t like my using the power tools. But he enjoyed polluting the dowels in and using the ratcheting wrench.

He was bummed I did not have the top ready to go to finish the project. But by the time we got the shelf in place it was time to head to school for Art Night.

The kids made a wise selection of art. I love to watch them create and try new things. It was a good day.

I am grateful for my kids observation skills and passion for creating things.

I am grateful for the community I have built in Oregon and the opportunities to make money from some of those relationships.

I am grateful for having a car to use when needed.
